LW sticks and four step aid

I cut down three lone wolf sticks to two steps an bought a four step aider. I only want to use one aider. How are you guys hooking to sticks so that you can pull up to next stick. Pics would help. Thanks so much!

With a single moveable aider I usually pull it off as I am on the middle step hang it on my neck while I set up my next stick. Then once I'm high enough to hang it on the next stick do.
 
It doesn't hook to the sticks. It just hangs. Are you thinking of the knaider which is different?
