Looks like the release of the lwcg crossover was delayed until October 1st. I didn’t order one but it seems this keeps happening with just about every hunting company out there. I wanted one but with the price tag and size of the platform I figure I’ll wait and see if they come out with a bigger one or how the xop climber compares when it comes out next year.

I emailed them last week and that was the response that I got. I have one on order. Ordered it the first day it was available for pre-buy. I was hoping to have it before our season opening on Sept 15th so I could play with it a little and get comfortable with it. I was really hoping to knock some weight out of my climbing stand set up this year.

I ordered mine when they opened the presale and when they announced it I promptly cancelled my order. My past experience with them when say it’s delayed means it won’t ship until sometime in November. It’s happened with the .5 that I had to cancel and buy on the used market. It happened with double step sticks…same thing, shipped in November when ordered in June. The Fanny pack thing they came out with, shipped a month and half after I ordered it when the website said, “Ships in 3-5 days”. I’ve never had any luck ordering anything from them yet every year I’m dumb and hand over my money only to be annually disappointed by them.

Seems like that’s about where it’s got to. Most recent update is 2 weeks at the earliest, 4 at the latest.

Guys the whole country is like that since _____.
I wanted a Alumacraft Classic 165 boat last year. I called 34 Alumicraft dealers. I found 2 boats. I drove from KY to northern Wi to get it.
Took 8 months to get a turbo charger for my truck.
This is the new normal.

It’s been three years. Surely they’ve learned to account for delays instead of “guaranteeing” a date.

Not particularly vested but it's stupid business timing. They should keep their new products in their pants have product ready to roll out the docks for show season.

The social media shoelickers make them think being a tease is a good idea. The shoelickers are gonna buy no matter what. Most guys just don't have patience for this crap.

I wonder when and how this unfortunate trend in "mobile hunting gear" started....

You’re right, that really did transform the entire “mobile hunting industry”. Hard to believe it’s changed that much in 5 yrs. It really begs the question as to what extent is it intentional? I know many small and new companies have come along and been humbled by the process but some of these players now know better.

I mean to be fair for things that are truly pioneering, I get it. So maybe the first decent climber in decades does qualify, even if I'm a little disappointed by the design. But it gets to be too much noise to keep up with.

I used to check out Arrow Trade magazine each year, which covered ATA pretty exclusively. Maybe I’m misremembering, but I don’t ever remember it being a concept show until recently. Now they’re giving top honors to stuff that’s taking years to come to market.

LWCG didn’t even bother with the show this year and just put out video announcing this stand…before they even had a seat to show. Lol. I’m not exempting them. But that’s a shift in how that group has done business. It’s a bit of a shame that the current business climate is what it is.

I don’t think Andre likes eating his hat. Probably been some rough interactions over these delays.

But they’re playing in Hypesville like everyone else.

It annoys me too.

Not their first product launch that has been delayed, likely not going to be their last, either.

Business models change. We’ve seen it in the industry over the last couple of years. Announce a new product, take prepayment, delay delivery of said product, then finally (maybe?) deliver. Work out the kinks and come out with “upgrades” over the next couple of iterations.

People talk about it (like this thread!) and it it gets on their minds. It’s called….Marketing! P.T. Barnum once said, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity,” which is almost as good as Oscar Wilde’s version, who put it like this: “There’s only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.”

Those guys are both dead. A more recent example could be Michael Jordan and his Nike shoes. That $5k per game fine seemed to work out for him pretty well. Lots of other examples…..if you don’t see it or realize it, well….then maybe you are falling for it…..

LWCG has also had a number of product announcements that haven’t made it to market. (As others have mentioned, this is not unique to them.). Kuhnert’s saddle/harness/belt. Patriot series stands. Arrow inserts (airfoil). Lone wolf cast stands. @enkriss can continue the list.

I wish Novix would work on a climber. They don’t seem interested. They’d rather produce $700 ladder stands. Take the Helo platform and make a climber out of it.

I listed to the working class podcast with Novix about a week or two ago and there were some hints dropped. I believe a climber from Novix may be coming but I could be way off…time will tell. My bet is the seat could double as a saddle platform.

I’ll have to listen to that. Haven’t listened to them since Steve left and Curt and Cody had a bromance for a minute.

The OG mobile hunters around these parts all have been using climbers since the 90's and beyond. Many of them still are. They work quite well in this region, most of our public hunting is in pole timber. I find it odd with mobile hunting being the huge fad that there aren't a few more good options out there. Someone needs to revive the Loggy brand or at least copy it, because their design was superior to the two-piece.

I’ve been listening to that episode. He was really vague but did sound like a climber possibly. Guess we’ll see at ATA.
