Not their first product launch that has been delayed, likely not going to be their last, either.
Business models change. We’ve seen it in the industry over the last couple of years. Announce a new product, take prepayment, delay delivery of said product, then finally (maybe?) deliver. Work out the kinks and come out with “upgrades” over the next couple of iterations.
People talk about it (like this thread!) and it it gets on their minds. It’s called….Marketing! P.T. Barnum once said, “
There’s no such thing as bad publicity,” which is almost as good as Oscar Wilde’s version, who put it like this:
“There’s only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.”
Those guys are both dead. A more recent example could be Michael Jordan and his Nike shoes. That $5k per game fine seemed to work out for him pretty well. Lots of other examples…..if you don’t see it or realize it, well….then maybe you are falling for it…..
LWCG has also had a number of product announcements that haven’t made it to market. (As others have mentioned, this is not unique to them.). Kuhnert’s saddle/harness/belt. Patriot series stands. Arrow inserts (airfoil). Lone wolf cast stands.
