Has anyone used the LWCG Sidekick with a Trad bow? I use the LWCG 1.0 as a hybrid system on longer hunts. I’m currently using my boot as a bow holder (longbow) while sitting. But, I’m looking hard at the Sidekick. Any input would be greatly appreciated. - JoyRyd

I don't see any problem. I've hunted for years from a tree stand, saddle, Pac Seat, Bucket, canoe, or flat on the ground w/a 64" Widow w/no issues

Sorry, I guess I spoke out of turn. I thought you were asking about a stand and not the holder!

If your going a holder and go third hand more adjustment for the long straight limbs

Although what u got going is pretty B.A

I use my boot, gaiters top or a cargo pocket depending on how I am siting or standing.
I have used something like this, even the compound models work ok. DIY etc...

And this looks fun! Found on Etsy:

I never could get my recurve to sit in there solid enough. That said, someone told me that Cody (from LWCG) was using his sidekick for a trad bow, but I never found a picture or video of it to see how he was doing it.

The guy that built my hill style bow recommended the Genisis 3D Printing Turret based on his own experience. If it works well on a hill style bow with super narrow/thick limbs it'll work even better with any other trad bow's wider/thinner limbs. It's designed to mount to the same small holes on the newer LWCG stands that the sidekick mounts to, but also can be bought with an adapter if you have the ones built before they added those holes, just costs a bit more. I haven't bought one yet myself since I'm using the Dewclaw from Innovating the Outdoors.

There is a picture or 2 on their website with a sidekick with a recurve
