This is a screen shot from a Michigan Great Outdoors youtube video, I’m thinking of doing the same thing with one 14” double step, can anyone think of a reason why this wouldn’t work with a 14” stick, I want to keep my profile narrow as I hunt thick country, I‘m thinking about taking off my cable aiders on my 4 17” mini sticks and just running a 5th stick, it would be nice to have that single double step stick for my top stick when wrestling the stand onto the tree.87F30573-90CE-4EA5-ADDE-F5E8F1C07667.jpeg

This has been one of their customer reviews for a long time. I have 4 14" doubles, picked up with this in mind. Never had the chance to try it out. I lent my 17" sticks to my brother and ran 20's but I can mess with some configurations. Should get them back soon. Only have 3 17's though.

I'm not sure why one would buy a small profile stand then walk around with sticks hanging out the side like that but I guess if your access is easy it doesn't much matter.

@Topdog is looking into running a 14" stick crosswise on a stand that's 16.5" wide.

I've hunted your mountain lauerl with a sit and climb. It's plenty thick where he hunts. I'm sure he'll take his conditions into consideration.

Anyone have experience with LWCG doubles and the beast sticks?

Just picked up a .75 and currently use beast sticks. I really love the beast sticks but am tempted by the LWCG sticks due to integration with the stand.

I think I'm going to try this too. My cable aiders have started to close up on the climb up, making it difficult to fish my boots into on the way down. I also hate when I get to the top of my single steps and realize I pointed them the wrong way for stepping onto the platform. So that double top step would at the top would be nice.

Is there any reason I shouldn't go with the medium seat on the .5? Do the sticks fit the same? It still can frame lock like the standard seat right?

My thoughts exactly, I have one ordered and when it arrives I will post some pictures of it mounted on top of my mini sticks.

I emailed them the other day and asked if I bought the .5 with a tall post and medium seat would it frame lock. They replied "on the new .5 they all interlock"

I hope I’m understanding your question right. I have the medium/.75 seat on mine and no issues with the sticks. Only thing is I had to cut part of the seat where the bracket would hit on it because the seat is too thick.

I'd really like to see that, topdog. So, is that going to be new for this year, ben? Or is it the pin system they have for the 22in post now? So, you had to cut the seat cushion, bowtie? The thicker cushion? I wonder if you'd have to cut the thick pad if you got it for the standard .5 seat.

I'm not sure how to read it either, that's why I quoted word for word their reply. Someone has a .5 with tall post and medium seat for sale in the classifieds that they recently purchased. Maybe shoot him a message asking if it frame locks or not.

Yes sir, the thicker pad I had to cut around the bracket that goes against the tree. I just traced it out and cut half the thickness of the pad away. I have the standard post with the .75 seat. I’ll take a picture for u sometime

I spent a few minutes messing around with a 14" double and the stand with my 20" sticks. I wouldn't overlook positioning the double step stick on the center post. You'll need to add spacers (or some sort of stick caddies) so the feet don't protrude through the platform. But it appears it will ride below the backpack catch and is easy to align that way while remaining unobtrusive.
