Just my two cents... the 452 is better than the 455. I own both and the fit and finish on the 452 is a lot nicer. Can’t wait to try a 457

Can you elaborate on why you like the 452 better? You aren't the only one, but I don't have a clear understanding of what stands out between them.

The fit and finish is better on the 452. Significant difference in the walnut. The bluing is not as refined either. The 455 trigger is not as good out of the box, had to upgrade spring to make it equal. As far as accuracy, maybe because the barrels are changeable, my 452 shoots circles around the 455.

Though I love the Burris 4-14 Predator with what I feel is the ultimate, perfect retical, and a great side parallax, unfortunately the parallax doesn’t dial down below 50 yards.

I have had good luck with Tasco World Class on my 22’s. They can be had for under 100 bones. Clear glass, accurate and can handle anything a 22 can dish out. They were recommended to me by an old squirrel hunter who kills 200-300 tree rats a year. I have one on my 10/22 and MP AR22.

I just picked up a sweet T/C R22 semi auto .22 and love it. This thread will help me decide as well. Thanks!

OK guys, I just got my hands on a Cz 455 Varmint in 22lr. I intend to use the rifle at the range and for small game hunting (rabbit & squirrel). In truth, I didn't want the varmint model (because I would have rather not had the weight on the heavy barrel for hunting) but this became available at a price I couldn't resist. Anyhow, thus far I am more than pleased with it.

I have my own views on optics, but for the purpose of being open minded I figured i'd ask for some opinions. Keep in mind, I have never owned a 22lr with a scope, only iron sights. In this case, assume the budget is flexible (but be reasonable, don't be suggesting a Nightforce or Schmidt & Bender).

With all this said, tell me what you think:
- 2x7, 3x9 or other?
- Model?

What is working for you guys?

I would ask that question on ,
rimfirecentral.com.
Been awhile since I've been frequenting that site but a search would bring you the info your asking for.

I can’t comment on the 452, but I have a 455 that is better in fit & finish than some classic centerfire rifles I’ve owned. Trigger is nice And hasn’t nagged me enough to mess with it, and I think it’s user adjustable, if I remember right. Nice walnut, cut checkering, American-style straight combed stock, deep CZ blue.....it’s just plain sexy and sophisticated, especially in a class of rifle dominated by cheesey plasticrap, and for a price that is far below what I expected.

I put a Vortex Viper 3-9 on mine. The only complaint I have is the CZ rings/bases sit higher than I like. I think you will be very pleased.
