Mosquitos can be killer in the Alabama swamps and backwaters. I have used Thermacells and/or bug spray in the past. I got one of these for my kid at Academy today for playing in the back yard and then I stared wondering if they might be a good option for deer hunting. They smell strong of lemongrass and citronella but I don’t know if that would be a problem since Thermacell never seems to bother deer. Anyone ever use these deer hunting?

I used something similiar or may have been same product. It did work

It may work, so far i havent found anything that works well on these damn swamp skeeters...

We just used these for the first time last week. My father in law was over and the skeeters just love him. We got him a wrist band and it worked pretty good. Today we just got 6 more from Lowes. I'm willing to give it a try cause the skeeters love me too. As far as hunting with them, dunno, other than if the deer is up wind he's not smelling anything.

Check out Shannon's bugtamer hunting suit. I have the bug tamer plus double guard pants / jacket with built in facenet....I wear it under my ASAT leafy in the early season for Turkey, bear and early bow season still a bit warm but no bites from skeeters, deer or horse flies, or gnats.
