Muddy lifeline rope for saddle hunting

I am currently using muddy safety line. Bought a safety line and made 3 tether/linesman ropes with them. I did use one with a ropeman 2 and it tore it up. I would not recommend using a ropeman 1 as it is smaller than it is supposed to handle! (but I do use a ropeman 1 and haven't had an issue).... Just can't recommend it....

I have thought it is a bit more limp than I like for a linesman rope. It tends to sag down pretty easily.

But it is lighter and more compact for sure than 11mm rope I have.

I have been using a ropeman 1 for over 3 years with the muddy lineman rope.

My HTP is on it's way, after discussing a little with red, I opted to try the HTP 9mm and opted not to have some eyes sewn. red said it knots well and is much less bulky than 11mm ropes so the knots are not nearly the space eater. I'm ready for my other toys to arrive so I can test some things out.

I'm a little late to the game, as I had a thought about using muddys 9mm rope as my tether...so I naturally came to saddle hunter forum to find out it has already been discussed, along with any other topic known to man.

How did you 9mm sterling htp rope turn out? Are you using it for your tether, ropeman 1 or 2 etc?

Awesome! I have two set up identical so there is no confusion. They serve as lineman’s and tether. I use Kong Ducks on them.

Ihave both the muddy and millennium.... Iused the muddy for my climbing sticks but have gone to amsteel. Currently using millennium for tether and linesmans belt but more than likely switch over to the muddy since its lighter and packs down smaller. I haven't had any issues with either of them. The millennium tends to have the outer sheath bunch up more when sliding the prussic down to the stopper knot before i daisy chain

I did the same when I first started. But before last season ended. I got predator rope with spliced eyes for lineman’s belt and tether.

Is this the belt you were using with the ropeman? I have one I want to use a rooeman with. I’ve been scared to try it though.

I need to replace the rope on a couple of my muddy pro sticks and was thinking about using millennium lifeline rope for the replacement rope. Anybody tried this? Does the cam cleat hold it well?

A couple years ago I bought a 3 pack of Muddy Lifelines to use for my hang-ons that stay up. First one out of the package the core was poking out through the sheath on one spot. I was in shock, how could a piece of life safety gear come like this brand new??? I milked "most" of the core back in the sheath and put that part closer to the ground than the top. No way in AF would I use a piece of muddy gear for anything supporting my weight on purpose. I SRT and have various sizes Sterling HTP for my climbing lines and homemade tethers and just this season built up enough trust to try Latitude's 8mm VaporLine tether but no way Muddy, that's flirting with disaster, literally.

Why is this? The Hawk tether and lineman’s ropes are junk too! Well they were when I bought that saddle 3 years ago. Just order a bunch of rope and make your own! Same with amsteel! Canyon elite is a sweet, but soft rope. The C-IV is much stiffer, but quality dependable stuff! I use resctech for my rappel when one sticking and I like it too……all 3 of these are great, but the only 3 I have experience with And there are a slew of others. If making a Tether, I’d use a stiffer rope. Mine is the elite right now, but wish it was stiffer.

It’s a 9mm rope. The millennium life line is 2 big if I remember right.
