To be honest, I've always felt a little bit nervous about sharing my hunts on this forum. I'm mostly a lurker. Gaining little ideas here and there. However, after an awesome weekend at SP, I think I can gain a ton of helpful information from the group of dudes on this group. I host a podcast called Southern Ground on the Sportsmen's Nation network, and we also make videos on the ole YouTube. This was my first year as a saddle hunter and I was able to kill 6 out of my 7 deer this season from a Tethrd Mantis. All but one was self filmed. I have to say that the hype was all real. Everything I was lacking was made up for in this style of hunting. Anyways, I'd love to share some of our videos with you guys. I'll post one at a time through the next several weeks from my Alabama public land season. Would love to hear your feedback.
So this first video was from opening day in Alabama. This was my first self-filmed deer kill and it was less than desirable. The audio sucked (I learned that GoPro mics are not adequate for whispering), and I didn't have my main camera setup well for this specific scenario. However, it was my first day of saddle hunting ever and I was able to make it happen. Thanks guys and gals!
