My modded anderson

I cut the original metal ovals off and mine works fine not twisting issues. I just tie a piece of para cord for the belt to walk in/ climb. I wanted it as light as possible. I use two bieners instead which is half the weight. I am thinking about putting a fixed bridge because I like the one on the mantis so much.

@kyler1945, don't listen to them! You're the designated hybrid guy! That Anderson is distracting you from fully understanding the intricacies of the hybrid. Send it to me for safe keeping.

Haha, I hope to at least get a hunt or two in the sling. But man, laid back in the hybrid almost feels unfair. I'm about 95% sure if I have a bluebird day, and am hunting a place with cel service, I'll be packing the tablet and working from the hybrid in a tree somewhere a couple times...

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to try it on mine. Where did you order the Cobra and Open Petzels?

Amazon should carry everything you need. Make sure you get a no sew cobra, unless you want to sew it on...

Cobra buckle finally showed up so here it is. Mods are:
Tether cut off and replaced with 1" tubular, -24" bridge. Water knot on each end, 2" of tail.
-waist belt adjusting setup removed (the plastic buckle pieces you feed the webbing through), center of waist belt cut and no sew 2" cobra buckle added
-petzl open rings fed through ends of waist belt for linemans connection points. This took a LOT of warm water and patience to get them the channel to stretch enough to get them through.

This thing is awesome. I need to do a fold over sew on the tail ends fed through the buckle so they can't pull through, and wrap the open rings in vet wrap, or fabric tape. Then I'm done. This will be my go to saddle this year. It's small, comfy, light, and easily adjusted for different clothing layers. This, some bolts and an ameristep ring all fit in a fanny pack. Rockin.

That looks sweet and very similar to my mods and size. Lightweight, compact and mobile

Here it is again and the adjustable lead strap is on it. I can also remove the lead strap and use a Tethrd tree tether rope with a ropeman adjuster if I want to wrap around a tree.

Here it is all wrapped up next to a softball

Here it is all laid out on a pool table and if you look close you can see the stitched in loops on each side of the bridge which I can attach a lineman's rope if needed. I can also remove the lead strap which is a shortened and modified Trophyline lead with the drape adjustment buckle incorporated into it, and use a Tethrd tree tether with a Ropeman adjuster if I want to wrap the lead around the tree.

I also used the Mantis saddle several times this season but didn't get any pics with it yet.

Thank You. Going to take the Metal ovals off mine and attach amsteel to seat straps. You see any problem w/removing those ovals

be careful tying any type of rope straight through nylon webbing....not sure what kind of friction amsteel will create, but climbing rope will cut through thrat webbing like a knife in about 12 or less strokes with pressure on it....

@Blacksmith

An example for anyone that likes to tie amsteel or rope bridges through webbing....big no no....

Not a ton since.I added the buckle, tested out this morning. Super comfy, easier to get to sit in the position. I want than before. Have some practice time in on it before the buckle and ring mods and really happy with it.
My Cobra should be here soon. Trying the same thing. Trying to figure something w/o the petzels. Those are $ 40 ea.

What type of lightweight ovals do you guys use? I currently use predator rope straight to 6,000 lb polyester webbing and haven't had any issues but then again the rope doesn't slice back and forth like that on the webbing when I am hunting. Mine is also folded over itself a few times. I would consider adding an oval if they were lightweight enough...for safety reasons...because I hate adding metal to my saddle.
