NAP Apache Bow Sling Carrying Sticks

Anyone ever try using a sling like the NAP Apache Bow sling to carry climbing sticks instead of strapping to a pack? I'm thinking maybe even just tie a loop of paracord around the top and bottom of the sticks and use any ol gym bag strap... thoughts or experience?
 
I do this just using my aider- 1” webbing that I’d be carrying anyway. Not particularly comfortable but not bad either. Been as far as roughly a mile back through easy terrain carrying them that way
