hey y'all Im in search of a new pack which can carry my platform and sticks at the same time. I have the EDP platform and double step stick by trophy line. I have the CAYS pack but it is too flimsy and just seems it doesn't carry the weight well at all. lots of flopping around and sagging. hate that but its really a nice pack. suggestions? I was thinking about the mystery ranch pop up 38

There is a thread on this forum 1000 entries long that deals with this, but for my two cents...The Mystery Ranch pop-up 28 is a great pack...in part because it can carry everthing in A34CBEEAF-F4D5-4917-AEDA-74CD9F746645_1_105_c.jpegAFBA2761-4B99-45E4-B5E4-660D9F5BF2CB_1_105_c.jpegND pack out a deer. It happens to be on sale today in the smaller sizes on Camo Fire. I don't love the pop up 38 because it is much larger, takes a lot of space on the tree. I use an Eberlestock F1 mainframe and I like it a lot but you need another smaller pack that you attach to it to haul your gear. Benefit is I can use a small pack in summer and a larger one in winter and always have the capacity to haul out a quartered deer. The Eberlestock X2 is a very popular pack for saddle hunting and Eberlestock has it on clearance right now. Attached is a pic of my mainframe with saddle, pack and skeletors so you can see how it all comes together. Sometimes during gun season, I take a chair out and hide in the vegetation at a field edge. Here's the F1 setup for that. Good luck!

Second for the pop up pack. I have the 30, but took the back off and use just the sling with 2 pouches attached. It’s a very comfortable way to carry more than you need

Here’s my mystery ranch set up ready to hunt this weekend. This is a “hunt ready” weight meaning all the stuff I’m taking in is in the pack. I use the sling and 3 pouches on it. This is both lighter than the bag and offers more accessibility as my stuff is outside. The gray pouch holds my kill kit, some first aid, an extra headlamp and my limb saw. I’ve also got some rubber coated wire in there in case I need to field repair my pack or tie a limb out of the way. The green is stuff like grunt call, thermacell, snacks, thermacell refill etc. It changes with the season. I don’t wear my saddle in and keep it in the dump pouch up top, along with my tether and linesman belt. The dump pouch on the right side usually will hold a water bottle, but if I hunt all day I’ll take a 3 liter camelback and put in the middle of the pack. I put my platform in the middle, and I can pull it out one handed while climbing. The sticks strap to the back and only one buckle has to be removed to get them into action.

Mystery Ranch Pop Up 28.
It's very versatile. You can expand it with the shelf to pack out quarters. You can use the shelf for your sticks, platform, etc. Or attach sticks/platform to the back or underside. You can make the pack smaller by cinching down the buckle straps. Also has a shelf for a hydration bladder.
It's good for hiking in the west or treestanding in the mid/east.

I have also heard good things about the eberlestock x2.
