I got a friend to slap a couple welds on it.... its a prototype... we will see
 
Hey looks great, & is that spray cans of splatter spray? I spent 45yrs. under one of those old hoods welding pipe for a living Local Union 597. I really like this site I am a new member, & learning so much from what seems to be a bunch of great folks.
 
Here it is finished... going to go do a test hang this AM. It cam out just shy 4lbs...not as light as Id like but its a feather in size n weight compared to my Lone Wolf Assualt... its my one so i madecit sized like predator for more room as I tend to stay on stand ling sits...will be using a DIY fleece saddle with it , I alraeady been practicing everyday shooting from my saddle at height, took some shots to get used to anxious to see how this helps today

Looks good, how do u feel about that in aluminum?

There are different grades of aluminum such as 4043. or1100 which 1100 is a little harder to weld but if I can do it anyone can, Lol. Just make sure you do the research on the material that you are using. I personally have welded plenty of pipe in the 4043 type which is very strong. And you can use either Tig, or Mig for your application, they also make a regular aluminum welding rod but good luck in running it, for it is truly different. I hope this helps, but as one welder to another you always have to watch both sides to make sure that you are actually bonding, & not simply laying medal over another.
Another thing to think of is research what type of material they use on the aluminum climbers, just food for thought.
