Good morning everyone, I am a bowhunter from the Piedmont region of NC. I recently discovered saddle hunting as an alternative to my LW lock-on and LW climber stands, and look forward to getting into saddle hunting. I mainly hunt deer, ducks, and turkeys on our eastern NC farm just north of Wilmington. I make my own recurve and reflex-deflex bows, and also enjoy sewing my own gear. I look forward to learning from everyone.

Best regards,
John Thomas in NC

After seeing some of the prices for the requisite gear, I believe that! I will try to DIY some of the sewn gear to reduce the cost. Thanks for the welcome!

There’s some pretty good threads here on making DIY gear. As always, err on the side of caution.
Btw, I’m originally from Rockingham County, NC. There is some pretty good public land in the piedmont.

Start with a fleece saddle then spend forever finding anything else that feels as good! Lots of DIY options otherwise, invent your own since you have sewing skills.
