Hey all! My names Pete, I am just starting my first bow season here in North Carolina. I first was drawn to idea of saddle hunting from John Eberhart being that he hunts public land and that is the only thing I have access to. On top of all the advantages of a saddle vs tree stand.
None of my family or friends hunt, so the only resource of information has been online. I picked up a Phantom Saddle, Skeletors, and Predator xl platform from Tethrd. I just completed my second long hunt and am surprised on how comfortable it was. Although I am looking in to their MVP strap for back support. Still dialing in my scent control regiment and the best way to pack in and out of the woods. Been looking at getting a ScentLok suit and backpack.

If anyone here in the NC or SC area would like to help me out with information that would be awesome. I hope I can make friends here that I can talk hunting with!! Thanks!

Will definitely read thanks! All the spots I have scouted earlier this year

Welcome from Iowa! You’ll find great people and tons of good info all over the board here. As far as the backband goes I highly recommend it, especially for longer sits. Picked one up mid year last year and it was a game changer for both comfort and keeping still in the tree.

Welcome from Missouri. I grew up in SC and hunted all over the state but spent most of my time in the upstate.

Welcome from Northern Virginia. Hit up the saddlehunter map and see if there’s some folks in your area.
