I'm really not crazy about self locking carabiners and I really don't like the hook style gate (I prefer the keyhole style gate).
It needs to work well with the Ropeman1.
Any recommendations?

Petzl attache works for me. Live from Wisconsin gun season on ground swinging from the saddle.

Hold on to your “round” attaché , they make them in a more flattened, grooved version now.

If you're thinking of using a wire gate biner for your bridge, Dont do it! It should be locking in some fashion. I use auto/twist locking biner for bridge, tether/ropeman & flipline.

Never use a non locking biner on anything you are attached to. Bad idea. There are too many different styles of carabiners out there search places like mountaingear.com and gearexpress.com. you'll find what you are looking for that locks.
