In my turkey induced coma, I started to think about adding a ROS to my final setup. Anybody have experience with that addition. I like to keep it minimal.

I use a ROS the same way, i set them about three to four inches higher than my one stick platform. It helps when you just need to stretch your legs a little bit and while moving around the tree.

I don’t one stick but I use a platform with a ros and I would never even consider getting rid of my ros. Makes moving around the tree in a quiet and controlled manner much easier. Plus you can widen your stance more which is more comfortable in my opinion. I like the squirrel steps or other similar models.

couple steps on an ocb strap and then lock down your platform straddling that strap never hurt anybody, but its usually a little bulky packing.
Depends on the diameter of the tree youre climbing if its worth adding them to a platform setup

Started last year using a ROS with the Wingman. Makes a big difference in comfort over a few hours. Great to change position of body and also in my opinion gets you closer to tree with less of you hanging off the tree to be spotted.

I’m still a strap and versa button guy. When I get to hunting height, this is for bow hunting, I put one slotted squirrel step on my stick/platform strap at the 9-10 o’clock position (this is assuming me the stick/platform is the 6 o’clock). I keep two. They ride in an outside easily accessible pocket on the left side of my pack. No extra strap needed. The stick platform plus the one step added to the strap gives me full coverage around the tree.

6 squirrel steps pack down pretty tight. I always just add them to the one stick.
Even with a EWO ultimate platform, I still want to be able to get all around the
tree at any time.

I did recently switch from the EWO ocb to treehoppers ocb. Night & day difference.
The treehopper wins in every aspect. I had two EWO ratchets break, so done with those.
