One Sticking....... most popular parts/pieces

Just ordered a Featherlite stick from dano with a 2 step webbing aider, cam cleat is on its way from Amazon. Just trying to figure out what rope to run through it and how to attach it. No I don't want to run amsteel I like having some weight to the rope.

Heard the flat scout was supposed to be available next week. I think I’m going to top off my muddy stick with it. A little hesitant to commit to the slant on my stick.

I used a muddy pro last year , but built a featherlight stick this season from DanO. Installed a Harken cam cleat and just have to install the amsteel now.

Have 7/64 amsteel that I’m going to do a full bury on once I get the fid in that I ordered

Hello. I'm interested in a similar setup as yours. I was planning on cutting down one of my LW sticks and adding the double steps with the bottom having the double aider. I've only practiced one sticking a couple times with a buddy's setup and it has been a while. Will you be able to install the stick high enough where the double aider is actually beneficial? Hope that makes sense.

I was thinking the same thing. I like the idea of using the scout but not real sure I'd like the angled one or not.

Highly recommend the angle. I did the double duty. I use the artisan for standing and setting everything up, but for hunting, the angled scout is perfect. I honestly wish all platforms had this angle. Really, I wish they were all like this stick... Flat near the tree and angled out for the lean. It’s just more comfortable on the ankles

I have the exact setup and yes I can put the stick so that the top step is around 6.5'. I'm 5.4" so that decides that. I can transition the stick 3 times and have my feet 16' and my platform 18'. If I move the stick four times then that means my feet will be at 21' feet and platform at 23' with my head at 28' ish. The double aider is more than beneficial...it is a requirement. My aider is 13" but it's a three step aider.

Awesome, thanks. I think I'm going to give this setup a shot.

WAIIIIIIT a minute, how TF did you make that and with what materials... Looks mint...annnnndd rabbit hole.

The flat portion is the Artisan Outdoors platform step and the angled one is the Scout.

He is correct. Artisan platform and scout from eastern woods for 1” sticks. A muddy stick and a drill and 2 sets of bolts/washers/nuts and you’re golden

Just seeing your post. I ordered one of dano’s sticks and put the lone wolf standoffs on it.
Yes, you can place the stick right above your head in relation to the tree and benefit from the 2-step aider.
I can get close to 20’ in 3 moves.
I also just step on the bottom step of the 15” stick, then reset to advance up again.

Works great. Then just rappel down at the end of the hunt.

There are lots of different Harken cam cleats. Which one do guys use on their sticks? And is there a better place to get it than direct from Harken? And is 7/6 the best size rope? I've got some prussik cord, so I don't know if it's worth buying amsteel. Any advice would be great. i'm totally new to this (late onset hunter).

I use the Harken micro cam cleat, which has a maximum working load limit of 200 lbs, and 6mm TRC rope. Bought it from a marine/boating supply company I found on the interweb.

So I was going to ask how coming down on a 2 step aider is for you but saw that you rappel down. Have you tried coming down much with the two step aider? I'm not interesting in rappelling down (at this time anyway :) )

It's doable. I did it a few times using a 1 step aider, but its a little more cumbersome than rappelling.

Coming down at dark on a 2 step aider, especially when you have extra layers of clothes can be tricky.

Which Harken Cam Cleat to order and where? What rope and how to attach to the stick?
