Shikar mini with scout platform. I’ve got 1/8” full bury amsteel on it now.

What did you do on the tag end of amsteel? I've been thinking about doing that, just ain't decided what to do on the tag end yet.

Still need to do a sponge cammo pattern but I'm happy with my DIY EWO stick. Running it with 7/64 amsteel daisy chain, the amsteel does like to grab bark and makes the fiddle factor going up increase as I don't detach the rope once its set. Going to toy around with 1/8 amsteel before I try the cam cleat option.IMG_20200311_014415_643.jpg

I have a bungee loop on the end. When going up I just let it lay like it is in the picture. When at height I wrap around tight and use the bungee to lock it in place. My 1/8 rope is about 7.5’.

I’ve also got 2 squirrel steps on ocb that I strap just below the cam cleat

I added an elastic bungee to attach to my saddle it makes the stick removal easier and lets me get more distance with each move

I think I tried something similar on mine, but found myself wishing I had something directly attached to the stick to pull it up to disengage it first. Maybe I'll try a setup with both.

Does it release from the cam cleat fairly easy without having to bend down so far?

Yes. I don’t have to bend down and it releases early

Use your foot on the step to pull the stick up and then pull the cord. No bending over
