Given all the machine work I’m sure these are going to be pricey. But they really check the box for what I’m looking for.

17” maybe too short for my taste which may prevent me from getting them which is kind of alright cause I don’t need them but man I want them
apparently you spin them into place. There is a slot that locks them into the post then you tighten the knob down... that an assumption
It looks like the actual steps lock when rotating into hunting position. The standoff rotates semi “freely” to accommodate different tree types and shapes. If they are similar to the popular Lone Wolf standoffs, they will not budge once weighted and tightened down to the tree.
Interesting, that worries me just a tad. I'm a hefty fella and I've learned that moving parts don't do as well strength wise compared to non moving parts. Hopefully I'm wrong though. Time will tell.
Really like how they turn flat. However, differently would like to see how they rotate into place and lock. Wonder if you just hand tighten the nut and if that is the case might want something other than a smooth circle. Will just have to wait and see.

If that is just a threaded knob that tightens to lock everything in place I don't think these will be the next big thing. If they are somehow spring loaded that is a different story. The threaded knob and rotating step and standoff isn't goundbreaking, it's been DIY'D. There is reason it hasn't been brought to the masses. Again I have seen these new sticks and I may be way off base, just and observation.
look up Silvo's DIY sticks I'm sure its the same concept that guys have been doing here for a while. the 17 " is straight from the lone wolf minis or the leverage sticks. some one is paying attention and about to give a a lot of guys what they want and are looking for!

My wallet doesn't want to buy these, but I don't think I'll be able to resist. Conceptually this is what I've been dreaming up for years as the only potential to have a stick more compact and lighter than modded heliums.
Only experience will tell if the ergonomics of the step rotation will be viable in all hunting conditions, that is certainly the biggest concern I have with the design. It could certainly be a case where the annoyance just isn't worth the ultralight credentials.

I think I would need 6 of these unless using an CAYG aider which for me is a no. I dont mind a one step aider but I only use them on the bottom 2 sticks
Yes and no. It would be possible to have the step and standoff keyed on the bolt meaning they would turn together minimizing the fiddle factor. You can’t have folding parts without some amount of fiddle factor. I’m interested in seeing the design and what makes them so special.
I do not doubt Matt's skills at all. But I am interested in seeing how a few things play out.
How quiet will the step be twisting the step into place. The step will have to be milled to "drop" into place for added supper. Which leads me to believe it'll likely start off very quiet and after repeated use, the finish will wear off and some DIY mod will have to be done.
Overall, I think it'll be great sticks and, again, I am excited to see what Matt comes out with. I think I've seen the least complaints about his products of any of the other manufacturers. Keep up the good work and throw us a few more bones here. After all, Saddle Hunter is likely an inspiration for a few of your current and future products.

I know it's sacreligous here... But Matt if you make the little ambush in some similar fashion to the RR so that it had a batwing and cam locked, I would be all over it.
He has a video with his friend that is 350 and they seemed to hold up just fine.
