Hey all,

pretty new to the saddle. when I hunted from a stand I used a Badlands Tree Stand pack. Im looking to downsize JUST a bit. I looked through some old posts but they are 1+ years old.

Im thinking early(ish) season and carry : spare release, a grunt tube, spare shirt and maybe hat, knife, SMALL first aid kid and a few small essentials.

Whats the newest and greatest?

The latest and greatest is always going to fail you. See what fits in your pockets. Sounds like. turkey vest or a small stuff sack, or a dump pouch would be in order for what you're wanting.

I use an Alps Pursuit pack. It has a bow carrier that I use for climbing sticks. I carry it pretty much every hunt.

Is it the Alps Pursuit Bow pack? I'm getting in the climbing stick business and need a secure way to carry them along with my other 3 million gadgets.

Never mind, I see it right there in your post. " it has a bow carrier" .

Just the regular pursuit. It's a few years old. The newer model looks pretty nice. I needed a largish pack because of all my winter layers. The pack carries sticks very well. I've had high dollar Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch packs and I prefer the Pursuit to all of them.

My big pack is a Sitka Flash 32. NICE.

My small pack is a DayOne fleece ASAT. Silent. No form though....I carry sticks with a carry strap. I wear a dayone fanny pack for quick access items

I have an Alps Big Bear that I am not using if you want a good deal

Makes more sense to want to downsize from that. haha...
I was wondering about that. I like that $30 one for the little hikes I do to hunt.
The fold down is a nice feature. I can put a full place setting in there and enjoy my coffee and biscuits with gravy for my morning hunts.
