I don't know about you, but I can stop being excited about how much innovation has transpired over the past three years in the saddle industry. Not only has the saddles come a long way since the first one I ever hunted out of and still do (Trophyline Tree Saddle), but the steps and platforms are so much more manageable to carry into the woods. I can't decide between the Perch and the Predator. I already have the WE Stepps and like them, so I think the integration will be easier than the Predator. I think the predator platform might be more comfortable due to the bigger platform. I know the perch is lighter and the predator, but I don't think the 1.5 lbs will make that big of a difference for an eastern hunt compared to a western hunt.

I doubt anyone has used them both yet, but once you do please comment below and let me know the pros and cons to both.
Also, the reason I won't look at the Lone Wolf (love all their products), but I'm not spending that kind of money on a platform just a personal opinion.

I have both. They are both great and I will use both for different situations. If I am climbing with my WE steps I’ll bring the perch. Any other climbing method I’ll bring the predator. Both are easy to hang, both are light, both provide enough real estate. My only issue with the perch is it doesn’t squeeze into all my steps. I guess I have bent them at some point. The standoffs are closer than they need to be for the perch to squeeze in. I was able to find 1 or my 10 steps that it works with so I’ll just make sure I use that step.
I use the predator with versa strap and it’s also great. I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

What is your process for attaching and removing perch? Do you attach it to Stepp before/after Stepp is attached to tree? And removing, steps for that? How about sound?

The sounds is manageable, I attach it before I cam the step over which helps getting a real tight cam, more leverage.
As for removing, I uncam the step. I do have a hard time taking the perch off the step. Still working on that. It gets wedged in so tight.

Thanks Jefferson. I didn't even think about the Perch not fitting into my current WE Stepps. That makes sense though if youve used them for more than a few times. I only started using WE last year and switched from my lone wolf and muddy steps. I probably wouldnt even look for a platform it the WE stepps were easier for put 3 stepps up but I always have a problem trying to put more than 2 stepps up for a platform.

I know you said they both provide equally adequate real estate, but which one is more comfortable? I would assume the Predator just due to the size.

The predator provides a larger platform than the perch. If I could only have 1 I would go w the predator

Which platform works better for a weak side shot? Can you stand up and rotate/twist on the perch like I have seen on the predator?

Yes without a problem. But it is easier on the predator in my opinion.
