Just got my Trophyline Covert saddle first saddle. Any advice for choosing a platform to go with it?

Congrats! Personally I would first consider how much foot room you think you’d want to have in the tree. Then narrow your choices from there. I like to be able to lean or stand so the Mission has been the best choice for me so far. But you can go as small as the OOAL scout or scout solo or even the top step of your climbing stick if you wanted if foot real estate isn’t a big deal for you. Of course there’s ring of steps too which as fairly popular.

Good news is if you buy one and try it and don’t like it, almost guaranteed you can sell it on here for close to what you paid for it.

The LWCG Ambush is good, i just got the LWCG. 5 tried it out today worked great. If you be a bigger guy then a larger platform is nice.

I have 2 platforms. Both are in between compromise platforms (I call that a sweet spot). The Predator (regular size) is just big enough for me to stand and turn on. I wear size 12 boots. The Tree Suit, I can't stand and turn on that well, but it is probably the lightest platform for its size on the market. It is about the weight of a ring of steps. I got into saddle hunting to be light and low profile, so I'm not going to carry a platform that is 4 pounds or more (I'll use a Loc On Limit as a platform before I do that, which might be an OK idea).

Another trophyline mission recommendation. It's not the lightest. Its sets on the tree like super glue. As little flex as you could realistically hope for. Enough room to stand and turn around. For me, it's great.

Third for the TL Mission for everything that’s been said so far.

I have the predator, Loggy Bayou ROS, Windwalker, and just bought a Mission. Agree with what Kyler said. I find myself using the predator less and less but it was my go to early season option this year. Looking forward to trying the mission.

Thank you everyone, it looks like the TL Mission for the win!

Ridge runner is great. Had been using a ring of steps for ten years. Decided to try out a platform and it was a total game changer. Made weak side shots a breeze. Super light and built like a tank.
