I didn’t want to comment in other post but I wanted to put out there is another style of a versatile strap. I’ve used this for a little over a month on my equipment across the Predator and sticks. I used 3/4 inch 2300 lb material. I would like to find some 3/4 inch 3000 lb rated webbing but so for no luck finding it. If anyone has a source please PM me a link I would like to give it a try. The pic’s show that I used three straps sewin in alternating spots. It just makes it universal in attaching using any size tree or devices. Just give it a look and you can see how it works. Any questions please feel free to fire away. And if you can find a source for the webbing please list it here so everyone can find it. The 2300lb webbing I’m using has worked out good for me but I only weigh 170lbs.

Nice solution for the predator Ron, always innovators on saddlehunter. Should work nicely with the predator since the tighter it is to the tree to start with the better the camping action works. Not sure I’ll use it on my sticks but if it work for you stick with it

Marc it’s not really. You start out with three webbing straps and alternate the sewing between them. I have a Sailrite walking foot machine with straight and zig-zag stitch. So I just use zigzag stitch set close and a V90 thread down/up and back sewing done. It’s real easy to put on and take off because of the minimal space adjustments. As G2 stated there’s no dead zone.

I find it extremely odd that I am typing this, simply becasue it just seems that having envy of another man's sewing machiene just seems weird.....not something I thought I'd ever say when I was in my 20s.

Makes total sense! I was thinking of trying to add that to the strap I already made. It wouldn’t be bad as long as you are doing it as you are. Great idea and thanks for sharing.

I have given this idea some thought. It seems like it at least doubles the work of making one. I also considered adding the in between loop on the end you would normally keep on. I really want to try one of these on my predator.

The main reason is to keep it as tight as possible on the platform so that it cams in properly. Too far or too big of loops won’t keep the platform rock solid.
Gotcha, make sense. I"m asking because, most of the ones I"ve used have extremely similar loop size to that of a versa strap ....

Well I think I made the loops a little too small. Took me almost 5 minuets to get the strap off of my predator tonight. I was close to just cutting the strap so I could get out of the tree lol!

Marc on the webbing the width needs to be 3/4” or below. The first one I tried I used 1” and I had the same problem. The starting loop also needs to be sewn as per pic below to make the diameter as small as possible for the Predator post. I’ve ordered some 5/8” in polyester and in nylon to try out.

Gotcha. Mine is 1” because it’s what I had laying around. Only 3/4” I have here is tubular nylon and that is probably overkill for this use.

I used an old strap similar to a Lonewolf strap, took the cam buckle off and sewed another piece of 1” to it. Worked great on the ground and first hunt, second not so much lol!

I was looking around today and I do have a roll of 3/4” mule tape rated at 2500 # and is poly. Do you think that would be ok for straps like this?
