Problem with ring of steps!!

I found success with Bullman steps on a ratchet strap I found at home depot. 2" is too wide and 1" didn't seem to be enough. Found a 1-1/2" that is great. Ratchet buckle is a bit larger to really put some torque on it too. One more tip with the Bullmans.....I found they were twisting on side loading. I added two small machine screws on the tree side of them so the head bites in. Then a larger single screw from the opposite side so the point bites the tree. Used a pilot hole to prevent tearing up the plastic or cracking the step. The point protrudes about 1/4".

Not saying this is awesome or the best mod, but they bite and are rock solid now.
