Hi -
Curious if anyone has suggestions for below sit, it was two days after Pheasant opener and typically this pushes deer a bit. I jumped one deer on hike in ,about 3/4 - 1 mile from where I park
Green X = my sit near drainage / low brush for shots. I found scrapes incidentally on the hike out ( right of green x into clear cut = blue circle
I want to sit the scrapeline during favorable winds.
Plan to move my stand back to be only 10 -15yds from the red circle/ boulders
(Behind me)
Might be a better muzzleloader spot.
I may try to hike along highway and jump wire fence behind rocks( tips off my strategy to hunters arriving late)
Healthy amount of deer sign on edges of clear cuts and I have seen deer access these on edges- visibility is good but get the most hunter access / dog training pressure.
My cams off obvious deer trails did not have much predictable activity. And these get hit by pheasant dogs
My questions .
1. Should I think about a pre set tree leave wild edge steps at 12 feet and up . Then i set one step and climb.
2. I feel noisy accessing by day and I take the better part of a half hour to set up at20ft or above and fully settle. Haven’t had a zero dark thirty sit yet . ?
3 Wait until end of October when sign/ activity increases?
4.Or wait for wind stop over analyzing and get in a tree!?
