Bowline is easier to untie after loaded but it is a harder knot to tie correctly, which could be bad news. As compared to a figure 8 trace/follow thru, which is harder to untie but much easier to tie correctly and safely the first time.

Bowline is a great knot but should be backed up with a stopper knot because when it is loaded/unloaded it can work loose. Also there is the possibility of rope on rope wear. I personally like the screwlinks and don't find closing them to be problematic. That being said when I find a nice branch to get a line in I will tie an Alpine Butterfly and run the rope back to me(the leg I ascend on) and there is some friction when pulling it back out of the tree but retrieval is a breeze.
