I’ve installed some shock cord. Are you guys keeping the stock belt on? Mine is not tight although fully cinched. It holds but I’m right on the 34” waist mark that the medium is sized for. Didn’t know if there is some safety concern by just using the shock cord.

I don’t use it. Just the shock cord.

In the event of a fall, and you are tethered to your bridge, all the stress is going to the plates not to the belt.
The only possible safety issue that I can imagine regardless of what type of belt or bungee, is slipping thru the sling until it cinches tight around the torso. I think that is very unlikely to happen but if anyone has concerns about that then they should use the leg straps.
