The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. Not sure about all the stuff in oplux but canyonprime is 100% polyester sheath and core. I was definitely concerned about it but with polyester's melting point that much higher I never had the water over 200. I dont see how it could have hurt it. If you guys dont hear from me for a while you should prolly stop dying lifelines tho.
I imagine if the core of Oplux melted you would still be hanging from the sheath which should still support you.
I've found with the RIT dye that you can forego the heat if you over do it on the amount of dye (use the whole bottle) and over do it on the time (leave it in a bucket outside for like a week). Heat speeds the reaction at a given dye concentration, was my reasoning.
PS...when I've done this long soak, I periodically stir the mix and move the item around to get fresh dye molecules to the areas because I assume convection currents in the liquid aren't doing much

I have cargo yellow lifting slings, I would like to dying gray to blend in with the trees. I just purchased Rit DyeMore royal purple. When the weather is nice I will dye outside and post before and after pictures.
Also do you know if dye will ruining the stainless steel pot
I dyed a piece of yellow truckers strap today with Rit dye for synthetic fabrics in order to achieve a more saddle friendly color. It came out OK. This is chocolate brown color.

This is an old thread. However, this thread came at a good time. I have some mule tape that I get for free. I was going to use it for pull up ropes in my pre sets. The "white" really stands out in the woods. I don't want to draw attention to my spots so I was thinking of dying it. Trappers use old walnuts or maple leaves to dye their traps. I'm going to try that 1st. If that doesn't work then I'll try this stuff.
