Anybody have any reviews or insight about the Pioneer rain jacket and pants from Rivers West. I just purchased a set last night and am curious what everyone thinks>?

Thanks in advance for the info

How do you like the Pioneer jacket? I need some rain gear, it's been pouring outside, lol! @redsquirrel, which jacket do you have? What other folks are using Rivers West, what jacket/pants do you recommend?

I bought some, best money I've spent. I haven't been in a downpour, but it has kept me dry and warm. No its not warm by itself, but a great wind breaker. The lining is awesome. I wear a size 11 boot and can slip the suit on in the stand. Packs up fairly small. I roll pants and coat together.

i bought the pioneer jacket and pants off amazon. I have to say it is super lightweight, and I have worn it on 3 hunts in the rain now and stayed dry while wearing it. Great products

I bought the Pioneer jacket & pants from Amazon last week. I sat most of the day in the rain on Friday. Once the heavy rainfall started I climbed down and walked a mile back to camp in the rain. I was completely dry when I made it back. It's quiet and doesn't weigh a lot for packing in. Very happy with the purchase. I sat again Saturday morning and used the jacket as a shell in 38-degree temps and stiff North wind. The breathable pioneer fleece was not a great wind blocker, but it definitely helped with my layering. Looking to see if they have a windproof pair for the colder temps to double as cold winter shell and cold rain gear.

You won't be disappointed!

I have been thinking it would be nice to have one that worked for the whole season. I wanted to get the pioneer line but would like something warmer for late season, it looks like I need more than one set which I was hoping to avoid.

I have the lightweight jacket and the pioneer pants nad have worn them for 2 years, here in Pa. it seems like it rains every day or looks like it might rain. I like how the jacket has zippers under arms to breath on the way in, the pant I have don't have belt loops which I don't like but other than that I think they are great! i have hunted with only thermal underwear and a wool sweater with the rivers west stuff on and have been comfortable for 4 hours with temps around 20F.

It may be possible to get away with the pioneer if you have a windproof layer already maybe a windproof fleece. I probably get cold easier than most, but I could feel the cold wind take the warm air away from my layers on gusts.

I'm with you on the cold wind, it can chill you pretty quick. I ended up wearing my snowmobile pants and jacket under my scentlok camo last year, lol. It worked pretty good but was a little noisy when moving around.
