Great buck. I give you that those are some really wide brows which is unusual but the angles look right. Bases come off right above the eyes. Brows wider than the head aren't normal.. Most originate above the eyes or least at some angle to the eyes. However everything about this buck just plain old looks right. That little drop tine is cool as heck. He has some character and imperfections. MR's buck is almost perfect in every dimension and shape and has no flaws. In other other words too perfect.

Yes, not all bucks have brows. But those that do are usually above the eyes. If they aren't above the eyes then the bases of the brow tines themselves are pointed towards the eyes. MR's brow tines are pointed straight down. The angles just don't look right to me.
 
I wonder what will ever become of all this. For sure “The deer hunting controversy of all time!!” Does anyone know if he still hunts? I can’t ever, ever, ever imagine being so prideful either way that it would tear me away from hunting. I simply couldn’t do it! I’d have to find a way to bring closure to this. If he is a true hunter and not a charlatan, I can’t even fathom how hard it must be for him not to hunt. I know I will die when I can no longer hunt.

There were folks from the same county (in VA) doubting this buck’s legitimacy on AT...but it was well documented and on the up and up from everything that I’ve seen. And accepted into books.

I’m not hanging around to try and prove Mitch’s buck is the real McCoy. There are some eyebrow raising anomalies for sure. I’m not telling folks what to believe, or even what I believe.

However, a lot of what’s being said is simply poor process argumentation. I think it’s fair to poke holes in all directions.

What you want is a buck that looks like an unofficial world record…I’ll keep a keen eye out for one when I take to the woods this fall, lol.

I’m thinking about buying a cheese grater. Would make a nice Christmas present for someone. Or maybe put an extra one at the cabin. Could be used to make a nice cucumber salad from the garden up there, but then I’d have to plant lettuce and fend off the rabbits. More lorem ipsum later.

I could use the cheese grater over the lorem ipsum. But I’ll wait on one. Lol.
 
So circumstantially I just can’t believe the buck is legit. But I struggle with what is the truth then. Did Mitch trick the scorers and how? Were the scorers in on it so he didn’t have to trick them? Was the deer real in some capacity and how did Mitch attain it? I don’t know if that end of this story has ever been satisfied in my mind.

Why would anyone doubt that buck? Great deer. Looks legit. Who cares what they say on AT anyway? I haven't been on there in years.

As far as my argumentation, I call it like I see it. It took me years actually see it. All the answers were right there and have been for 25years. I'm not alone in my opinion either. There are several well respected successful knowledgeable hunters that have the same opinion. Gordan Whittington, Gene Wensel, and John E to name few.

For years I truthfully wanted the MR to be the unofficial WR. It looks very cool. Droopy ears, wide bases, and purple bases. Totally bought into it. None of that bothered me at all. After actually listening to Nathen Killan and all the inconsistencies he pointed out w/ MR's various bucks , did I really start to doubt MR's buck. I really don't care what the next WR looks like. Hopefully a bowhunter hanging out of a saddle gets him! LOL However I think he's already dead. The King buck IMO should be the WR but that's a different topic. But if you do see that WR next fall, make sure you kill him, film it, and get him X Rayed so you can end this controversy once and for all.. LOL
