1/4" amsteel and versa button. Probably switching to 7/64 amsteel and daisy chain method

1/4 amsteel is what I used this time... I won’t use anything else ever again!

I spliced them up within about 2-3 minutes a splice, and could have easily done faster with a little practice. There is no knot bulk, thanks to the splice, and I will never come close to breaking them.

I use 8mm for my LW's. It's great. Some day I'll try a rope similar to amsteel.but the ropes are holding up well so far.

I have used 8 mm static rope and 1/4 Amsteel spliced

Amsteel packs better and is lighter
8 mm is nice and stiff for throwing around a large tree
Both work well
