I use the Beal 5.5 cord in a prussik with just 3 wraps on elite and now resctech. It has always locked tight, but still tends easy below my ATC …..really like that cord!

The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. Looks like you found a solution, but I was going to suggest trying a different friction hitch. I like my Michoacan hitch for pretty much any friction hitch situation. On skinny line (like the Beal 5.5mm) I throw an extra wrap or 2 on there to spread the friction out and hopefully avoid hot spots.
