I am brand new to saddle hunting and just recently got my saddle equipment in ...I’m wanting to know how you are suppose to use the ropeman on your tether ??? Do you take the know off the rope and just use the ropeman ?? And is this the same for lineman’s belt ?

The ropeman can be attached to the tether without undoing any knots that may be on your tether. Always use a stopper knot at the end of your tether regardless of using a ropeman or other method. Did you get the handbook that usually comes with a ropeman? Very informative!

Many of us use the Ropeman 1 on out tether and use the Prussik as a back up just in case.

I would start on page 17 of this thread. There's a lot of good information about a Ropeman. There's also discussion about whether backing them up with a friction hitch makes them safer. Should be standard reading for anyone using a Ropeman.
