I don’t have either one. Which do you prefer carrying and hunting with.?
Looking at Dano’s steps or Tethrd platform.
Feedback would be appreciated.

Where the skys are so blue!
Dano's Squirrel steps and vtbow's carbon fiber bolts. 2.5lbs total, 30 ft climb height.

Everything else is wrong. :)

Get both, try them, keep whichever works the best for you. Sell the other. Personally, I have both and use each of them depending on the situation. I like having options.

I use them both. I have Ameristep on a ratchet strap and a Predator platform. I like them both but I starting to favor the Predator platform.

The water color in that lake couldn’t possibly be more conducive to chunkin a black/brown/amber 3/8 ounce jig with a black pork trailer. It’s almost time to catch those winter time giants

Never been much of a fisherman. I know, I know, why take up limited real estate on th lake if you dont even fish?

Tuning into this one.

My reservations about the ROS is the noise associated with a rachet strap. That’s a deal breaker for me. Is there a ROS without a racket? secondly, is there noise from the tether on bark when rotating around the tree?

I switch back and fourth between the two I have a preadator and ameristeps, the ameristeps pack up better.....I tried wild edge for a platform I will say with confidence I do not like them for that use only for climbing.

With the new squirrel steps and an IMMI boat buckle a ROS can be as noiseless as anything. Slightly more setup time since you must individually position each step, but my 5 squirrel steps and OCB fit in a coat pocket if I want them to.

What does your ROS weigh with those 5 steps? Are knee pads mandatory with a ROS?

Knee pads aren't exactly mandatory, but I havent hunted once this year with out my arxteryx pads. I wear them in and never notice them.

1st pic is ROS weight. 2nd pic is my go-to saddle system. Note that the 3/4" squirrel steps just showed up yesterday. Prior to that I used ameristeps. Whole setup is sub-6lbs and doesn't take up hardly any space in a small daypack. I wear the saddle and linemans belt in. The rest can literally be shoved in pockets.

Are you using Danos buckle and strap?
If not, can you elaborate on what you are using. What is an OCB?
