Here's my pack , I carry 4 modded hawk heliums attached to the outside. Inside I'm extremely minimalist: my ring of steps, knee pads and kestrel in main compartment. Outside pocket I have a headlamp, folding knife, tags, and bow pull up rope along with my Daisy chain gear hanger strap with s hooks and clipter. All together I'm at about 20#. I have my game plan hardcore frame pack on stand by in the boat or Jeep in case of need to field quarter.

21 pounds with Sitka Fanatic jacket. No water or food. 4 DIY sticks (amsteel or versa strap), platform, binos, range finder, spare release, two headlights, 2 or 3 biners, limb saw, G2 tree gear strap, compass, whistle, bow pull up. On me-saddle, tree tether, release, bow. Whatever it weighs, it's much less than an Assault or an Alpha!!

Let's see what's in your bags .

Maybe this can help out some folks or pick our brains to strengthen our set ups. This is what I usually carry in with me and how it loads up . Some items get taken out depending on the weather or how far I'm going in or if gun/ ground hunting . I'll get a detailed list on here when I can type it all out and also add camping gear for backcountry . But for now the picture can explain. This one is for all day cold saddle sits . If it's all loaded it's at 30+ with some water and snacks, if I wear my saddle and carry the bow I'm at 17lbs . Add winter layers and I'm at 20 lbs. View attachment 9246View attachment 9245

I'm still waiting on my first saddle, but I've had my Exo for a while. What do you guys do with your pack once you are up? I can't imagine it anywhere other than below a tether, directly in front of me...but I've never been in a saddle. Where do you guys put it?

Mathews Bow
Kill kit ‘Tag bags ,knife,gloves,550 cord ,trash bag

Are you using the cut up z-rest with bungee in place of knee pads? Are you using the bungee to attach the to the tree or is that for packing purposes only?

Yeah that is in place of need pads and the bungee hooks in to the tree. I sit and lean to give my knees a break . The pad works but after a while it feels like it's almost not there.

Wow maybe I have become a minimalist, from all my time lugging tree stands in deep woods. I only pack a fanny pack full of necessities. SNACKS!
I like to see what everyone else brings into the woods!

So I saw a video of someone doing this, I I was wondering how well it works? You ever find that with certain trees that doesn't work? I would think it would work fine on rough bark But what about poplars and stuff like that?

On some trees it's not as easy ,sometimes gotta bend the hooks to catch .If it doesn't work I have a string that I clip in to the gear rope to hang down
