This will help your son too
I’m like to see numbers
I want your son to figure out the cost of all his materials. And figure out how many total hours and a reasonable starting pay rate ($10/hr?)
Then we can see what it’s costing him to make these pieces. It has to be profitable for him to do it. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to help people out, but ultimately he’s providing a service that no one else does here currently for this exact thing.

I like how you think. That’s what I had him do. Here is how he broke it down for me to help him:
Paint ~$2 per piece
Wood he is sourcing for free and not passing any markup on
Time - he is estimating 10 hours of production time on future pieces and we used 7.50 per hour - which is minimum around here if he were working a job at a retail store
S&H - estimating 15 per item there

If he upped his labor to $10 he’d be at$125 per piece.

Ok here’s another art piece he just finished for my wife. American flag carved from a board and painted. Cool texturing. He can make these as well. My wife is really particular about home decor (Pottery Barn junkie) and she has the flag hanging in the living room - and to think she won’t let me put taxidermy there
