What if you had a design like this seat on the Old man hang on

and ran some webbing from each side of the bars. Seems like it would be lightweight and you wouldn't have the hip squeeze. Also the net seating looks like it might be comfy.

Comfort is in the eye of the beholder as they say. I have an old man climber and dont care for the netting. I have one of these turkey chairs(mine doesnt have folding legs, but has the webbing) and strung that up via (4) 1" straps. It was decent for comfort, but a hair to narrow for me. Might work well for a smaller guy and is along the same lines you were thinking, but cheaper.

If you are going to use a net seat at all, get the chill pad from Treewalker.

It is day and night difference between net seat alone and with the chill pad!

And get everything out of your back pockets!
