Saw this "Saddles Are For Horses" t-shirt by Novix and didn't know if I should laugh or be disappointed...

I'm disappointed because it's neither clever nor funny.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, raisins! I would have to agree with you. In my opinion it just creates a divide. Instead of supporting fellow hunters and encouraging folks to try all different methods of hunting some need to tear down other styles. While in the booth at the Dixie Deer Classic allowing guys to demo the many saddles I had on hand I didn't hesitate to verbally support climbers, lock-ons, etc. but someone told me about the shirt so I went over to see it for myself.

Don’t get too worked up. It’s Mother Nature. When something feels threatened it lashes out. Clearly saddle hunting has become a threat to their bottom line so they have to respond with insults. They’re another company that is regurgitating products that have always been around. If there marketing was as confident as it should be, the product would speak for itself. Since it doesn’t, they have to throw shade out there to convince people to come back. I’m weary of any company that claims their way is the only way. That’s the separation. A great company presents A way and lets people decide for themselves. I’m not mad at em. Keep tryin I reckon.

I agree with your points, Duke. I'm not mad at them just disappointed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I chuckled when I saw it. I think it's good-natured fun, combined with a little marketing strategy. Nothing new there, they aren't the first ones who have done that, so "Let he who has not sinned throw the first rock."

Reminds me of us Trad Bow guys joking with you Compound guys, that you need a bow with "training wheels," (because of the cams,) & you Compound guys calling us Trad Bow guys "Arrow Kickers," because we spent WAY more time than you did lookin' for arrows at 3D shoots! All good fun, IMO!

Wow, I don’t think they expected people to take it to heart like that. Just a little light hearted joking around. I thought it was kinda funny.
I hear ya, BenG. You're probably right and I definitely haven't taken it to heart. I just really respect companies like CGM, Wood Hunting Saddles, EWO (and I'm sure some others out there) who support other manufacturers even when they possibly lose sales to them. ...they'd rather support another company than look for a way to cut on them (even if only joking). I just think that is the classy approach. Kind of makes me proud of some of our saddle companies out there.

on the one hand, it's jsut silly tshirt. on the other hand it's another indication that there's more money to be made by turning people against each other than uniting them which is sad. i'm starting to sound like the "hunters are under attack, we need to band together to fight off the antis" guys.
