I believe in using scent. I’ve seen it work many times. What I don’t like is tromping around in the dark making all kinds of noise and possibly leaving my own scent around as well.

So, here is my solution.

I’ll paint them blaze orange and find a way of attaching some kind of cotton patches to them. Maybe a cardboard fletching that will absorb some scent?

They will sit lower to the ground than recommended (unless I stab a tree 20’ up) but I can either throw them from the base of the tree or from my platform.

If nothing else it will be a fun failed experiment.

That looks like fun
And if it was legal would be a great way to try and get squirrel that are ratting you out

I like it. Pick up some cotton rounds. Cut them into narrow rectangles and tape around the shaft. Good luck!

I had a plan to make a scent ‘paintball’ that you shot out of a blowgun or slingshot. Exposure to moisture in the air, or impact, would compromise the shell and release the scent. Then I found out how the market for deer piss is a likely culprit for spread of some of the diseases were fighting in the herd now.

In Canada we can only buy artificial scent. The first generation sucked but I think they are getting better.

There it is. I’m using a Hoppes cleaning patch to soak up the deer scent.

I’ll wear gloves to handle them.

You could use this product. Saw it on YouTube a few years back. Never tried it but seems to be the same thing your thinking just on steroids.

Cool idea. I think I’ll try the darts though. Much quieter
