I purchased some Sitka items this year at a steep discount. The Sitka pieces are definitely well thought out with the bow hunter in mind. Super high quality, great warmth to weight ratio and everything is silent and laid out really nicely. Even the snap buttons are silent. The camo pattern is not my favorite by far, but the function outweighs that in my opinion. The prices that I paid, (discounted but still pricey) were worth it. However I would never buy this stuff at full price. It’s high quality awesome gear but in my opinion not worth the sticker price. I could understand if it was USA made but it’s not…
First lite base layers are well worth it. No gripes. The whitetail line however was not designed with bow hunting in mind. It’s nice stuff, but I didn’t care for the pieces I had. The solitude series has a huge collar which got in the way for me and caused me to quickly sell it. I have a set of solitude bibs which I like, but don’t love. I bought them to replace my cheap bass pro cold weather bibs. The first lite bibs are no better and no worse. Both are the same weight, some quietness and same warmth. I feel I could have better spent that money somewhere else and I still may end up selling them. Same thing with their pants. I sold a set of corrugate guide pants because they did no better then the cheap $20 Costco pants. They were nicer for sure but not $100 nicer.
