Sharing Back Band Patterns/Designs

Once you get set do you just put your back pack on and hook her up to your tether? Interesting
You would get all set up then throw your pack. I put it through the carabinier for the bridge instead of hooking to it. I haven't actually used it hunting yet, I just tried it because someone said there wasn't really much new you could do with back bands :) I like a challenge. I'll probably only use it for gun hunting because I want to have full range of motion with my bow.

You mean you use your whole pack as a back band? I am interested. Send us some pics!
Like I said, I won't be using it during bow season, but it definitely won't get in the way for gun season.

Almost missed a shot on a deer last year because of those prussiks on the amsteel bridge (couldn't get past the bury).

So I'm going with a single bachelor buckle on 3/4" webbing. Sewed in a loop on my weak side for the buckle to hook into so I can loosen it with my bow in my opposite hand.

I used a cordura rifle sling because its stiff enough to slide up and down. I added paracord(its not life support) through the ends and up through tether beaner with a woopie sling on my right side. easy to adjust and slides during turning in saddle.

Pack idea is clever but I use my Kifaru antero as a collection point to hold gear I’ll need throughout the hunt.... calls, binos, gloves, etc

I'm way late on adding this.... sorry!

Here's what I came up with.

Using it as I add this. I'm very pleased with it.

I'm surprised no one has tried fleece yet. We have 15 page posts on fleece saddles! I guess a fleece backstrap is in my future. 7/64 amsteel whoopie sling and connect to my bridge 'biner!

The thought crossed my mind. Thought fleece material might roll up. I wanted it to hold form to an extent. That's why I added the foam.

You should do it and let us know how it works! Somebody has to be the guinea pig

Smell what is the attachment system? Just through the tether biner?

I made this simple mesh backband that matches my haulers. I made the strap continuous because it seemed simpler and more robust and just run it through my carabiner like the new tethrd style and it works great. I tried it briefly under my legs while sitting and I really think it might be something I do on those long November sits. Adjustable on both sidesIMG_4308.jpegIMG_4309.jpeg

I have Paracord prussik off my amsteel bridge to small biners and 2 straps . 1 duffelbag strap that goes for upper back and a second strap for lumbar. I haven't got around to sewing a design I have been thinking of.

So I tried the fleece saddle style backband and it worked easily and was very comfortable. I had built an initial fleece saddle, and found it to be too short, hip to hip. So I cut and made a wider one but tried the old short one as the backband. I took an old kneepad and cut about 3 by 18 piece, and rounded the corners. I rolled it into the saddle and had a backband! Give it a try....
