Took it up the steepest hill around near my house. Disregard the time as that's way off. Took about 5 minutes to gain 466 feet of elevation. SLOWEST it went was 25mph and topped out at 34. All uphill start to finish. View attachment 89078

Tough to say because I never heard a Bafang to compare it. It's pretty audible when you crank itHow was the noise on that xd motor in person?
Paved road. 34 was going slightly uphill. On a complete flat with me pedaling hard I got it to 40.1What kind of terrain are you riding on where you can hit 34mph. Like paved road? I hope u wearing a helmet brother.
Building out another Framed Minnesota. Got the motor, luna 30t chainring, lekkie onenut, and cranks on but one pedal is frozen on the old cranks so letting that sit in some Kroil for a bit. Only took about 30 min to strip it down to the frame and install everything. Much easier after you know what goes where and how the weird bike tools work.
This bike has a 9spd 11-36t sunrace cassette on the back. It's all steel so should hold up pretty well but might switch it for a wider range Box 2 drivetrain if i dont like the gear ratio.
Tomorrow cutting off the Anderson battery harness and soldering on a XT90. Smooth sailing so far.
I think all together this bike build was about $1800, the battery cost as much as the motor kit but it is a true 17.5ah battery with quality LG MJ1 cells. Bicyclemotorworks.com builds all his own batteries right in PA. Theyre not as spiffy lookin as the plastic hilong cases but theyre built here in the US and i dont have to worry about my battery exploding into flames.
Framed Minnesota bikes fit the bbshd like they were built for it (no spacers and a 100mm kit clears the chainstay by about 1.5mm) and weigh right around 60lbs after the conversion.
For anyone on the fence about getting an ebike, you can find these Framed brand and other fat tire or mountain bikes used on fb marketplace for pretty awesome prices and build a solid bike in a couple hrs for a fraction of the cost most midrive bikes cost. I just recommend this model cuz i know it fits perfectly with no fidgeting. View attachment 89145
To those with Ebikes how does your battery gauge act? Weirdly even when my battery is fully charged the gauge only reads half full. I read as you use the battery and recharge it this will improve. And second, does your battery gauge move around a lot? What I mean is I'll start the ride, then a minute later it'll say it dropped a whole bar, then a couple of minutes later it goes back to being full again. Hard to get a read on how much capacity I actually have left
I have had no issues with mine. Has been right every time no calibration time eitherTo those with Ebikes how does your battery gauge act? Don't worry about your percentage. Most displays dont really do a good job with that. Not sure why but its a common thing. Just pay attention to voltage and do the math in your head. If it's a 52v system it should be fully charged at 58.8v... once you get down to 50v start worrying about how many miles left to get back. It'll fluctuate a little when yer rippin it hard.To those with Ebikes how does your battery gauge act? Weirdly even when my battery is fully charged the gauge only reads half full. Thanks. My last bike had the Wren. It's excellent and the bumpy trail barely translates back to your hands. You gotta take time to get the air pressure right. And second my bow,Xbow, and rifle goes on the handlebars and didn't want a crappy fork shaking the weapon all over the place.Bafang HD is almost silent. Tires are usually louder than the motor.
if I'm riding on mowed grass I can hear it a little though.
My man got the wren forks too. Pretty much bought a suron

I have seen suspension seat posts and then add a more padded seat. But I do think the secret to comfort is the postWho has a comfortable seat recommendation for me? The one on my Trek Roscoe is not good for 2+ mile rides.
