Singer 457 Stylist

Absolutely. Those old machines are workhorses. Might have trouble getting enough foot height but you should be able to make it work.
 
I believe it is a “touch and sew” model of singer. They have a record of being difficult. Also, it has a plastic gear. IMO, not a good candidate for a vintage machine.

If it is free, go ahead and cut your teeth on it, but I would recommend replacing the machine with a more robust vintage domestic singer when one becomes available.

Thank you and that’s what my thoughts were after googling it.
 
Good for light projects, probably not the best for a full saddle and multiple webbing layers IMO
