So I’m new to WE steps and I’m wanting to use a single step aider that I can take from step to step as I climb and descend. I was thinking about using webbing with a formed step and sewing in a carabiner loop. Has anyone tried anything like this?

Why not just use the adjustable aider that WE sells? It’s pretty sweet.

Have you read the Swaider (and Knaider) threads? Sounds like what you are looking for.

So some guys are using a five step aider , they have them in mountain climbing , G2 is using it with a naider. He says its the best thing he has found so far

I use the one by wild edge. I don’t think it’s necessarily the best but it works fine. I would like to try the metolius easy aider. Basically what you are talking about would be very similar to a swaider. If you can’t adjust the length you want something that will conch down and stay on your foot. On a fixed length aider it’s easier to have your foot in it and lift your leg to hook the carabiner than hooking the aider up then trying to get your foot in it.

Yes from what I have researched that is what I trying to make. I have a proto type made up, but it’s a set length. I am trying to find a webbing Adjuster that can support the weight as I climb so I can change the length if needed
