With the recent rebirth of the popularity of the Anderson sling style saddles (Wraptor, Recon, ESS and Latitude), I thought I would do a build along showing the progression of these saddles, as I see it. Ultimately, we will end on a final build that is a bit different. 1st video is up. Description and parts list. I'm making this series a bit shorter. Here's the link. If you like it, subscribe! Hit me up with thoughts and suggestions as we go along!

Video 2 is up! Layout, mock up, sewing and tryout! This is phase 1, the Anderson sling/Wraptor (John Hicks @bwhaha on saddlehunter). It's long, but there is a lot of info in there. Next video will move on to the Recon and ESS, and finally the Latitude-ish final product.

Ok! Until this video series I was sure that you had a Phillipino sweat shop in your basement as many saddles as you pump out. These videos prove in fact that you are the master craftsman responsible for such crafty concoctions!!

So after looking at homemade versions and the ones that are manufactured I can’t wrap my mind around why everyone uses a buckle that is rated for a fall. If you are attached to the tree by the rope what good is the buckle doing? I have made one already but my next will be using only a itw plastic buckle for the waist and no leg straps. Leg straps seem pointless with the wraptor style sling. I used them on my mantis style only cause it seems to help keep the saddle from riding up. What’s yall’s thoughts maybe I am missing something.

No lineman’s loops gonna use the metal loops as a lineman/bridge?? Really looks killer

Great details for a build. I am still trying to perfect my sewing skills. I might give this a try in the winter

Could not agree more. I like the Raptor buckles...just because. Nothing to do with load bearing. Plastic clip buckle are loud. As for leg loops, They actually get in the way most of the time. I will say, they are good for keeping the bottom panel in place when 1 sticking.

Yes sir. After eyeballing pics of the Recon and ESS, It seems that the linemans loops are directly in line with the bridge loop rings making them redundant in my eyes. Besides, I rarely use a linemans (1 sticker).
