Tightening the belt is really only for when you wear it walking or climbing. Once tethered, you don't need, or even want it tightened. You are correct...you want the sling to pull in its natural position. A tight belt (when tethered) pinches the sides in and if left that way, could cause hip pinch, but if you loosen it when tetherd there is no hip pressure.Interested in how the belt fits on a small individual like myself. I have an Anderson and the belt is essentially the same as how this one is set up...and here's the issue I am having. Just as you stated, the belt will tighten everything you sit in, but to the point it's uncomfortable. Only when I unattach the belt does the sling open up to it's "natural" position and relieve the pressure created by the belt. Almost as if the sling is too long and wraps around my hips too far.
