While impatiently awaiting the arrival of my Mantis I decided to take a look at my gear to see where I could shed weight. I took the leap and did the rope mod to my lone wolf sticks after watching Garrett's videos. I went into it with the intention of taking Garrett's advice and ordering the PMI accessorie cord a ft longer then the standard LW strap.

Yea well about that. My advice would be measure at least twice. I ordered a total footage that I thought was plenty. When I got my oder and started breaking line down into 4 peices I realized I somehow ordered a foot less of cord per stick instead of a ft more.

The downside is I then spent another $30 on the correct footage of rope to do the mod. The plus side is I know have a killer lightweight rope mod for hunting from saplings.

Measure twice, order once

I feel your pain. Been there on a few home projects.

I did the same thing with leverage sticks two step sticks. I rope modded 4 and left 4 with cam buckle straps. Used them for a season. Now I have the cam buckle straps back on them but I have 4 8mm tethers that I really like. Not sure how long yours are but mine are working great as tethers. Might work for linesman’s belt also.
