So I made my first quick turn and burn trip to Air Base Charleston and Parris Island this past Monday. I did run across Donnelly WMA in between the 2 bases. Have any of you hunted that area? Should I invest in some snake boots. I also had someone tell me that the truck break ins on WMA's have really picked up in the past couple of years, is that true?

I hunted Donnelly and Ace Basin back in the late 90’s quite a bit for hogs. I did wear snake chaps but never saw that many snakes. Probably the gators and hogs ate them! Lol. I always looked forward to my trips to the low country. Take plenty of water and a compass.

Thanks. I might have to do some small game 22 mag hunting on the next trip down. Water and directions are a constant in my hunting gear.

A lot of the guys that hog hunted there used a .22 mag. Back when I was going there were lots of hogs. And gators, did I mention gators? SC has a gator season too.
