Southern Snowmageddon 2024 Thread

Oh don’t get it twisted, born and raised in S. Louisiana and I’ve heard people complain about the heat all my life, like they don’t know what’s going to happen here in July/August. I’ll take my 100F and 100% humidity Andy day of the week over 70 and below… unless I’m in a deer stand.
No different here with regards to the cold, just ask my wife. She was born and has lived her whole life here and complains constantly about the cold starting in Sept thru May. She's no different than 90% of the people who live here. It's just us really weird folks who actually prefer the cold weather. :tearsofjoy:

I always say people that live here have short term memory loss. As soon as snow melts the memories of the hellish cold that just passed are immediately repressed and everyone acts shocked again in late fall.

(I’m one of them now because my wife won’t leave her family to move to a place God intended for people to live).

So you had no temperature this morning?

Haha. Yep.

We definitely had a pretty wild temperature inversion going on this morning. My house is at 2300’ and it was 0. Three miles away it’s 2900’ and is usually a few degrees colder than at my house but, this morning the temperature was 21 deg. It was like that the entire 40 mile drive to work. Valleys were single digit temps and ridge tops were 20 deg+. I’ve seen the valleys being colder several times but don’t ever remember that big of a disparity.
