An oak on my farm.

If you think you have a trail tree or you’re just interested in trail trees check this site out....

If you do have a tree you can submit it online here....

I am already in the process of nominating the tree for review by the Texas Historic Tree Coalition and the Comanche tribe. Unfortunately, it is a VERY long process (3-5 years) even IF it gets accepted. The Comanche tribe requires corroborating evidence of specifically what the tree marks, or specific reference in their oral history. To put it in perspective on how hard it is to get a recognized marker tree.... there are only 9 confirmed trees in existence in all of Texas.

Do your own research and testing before becoming confident in any DIY solution to support your life.

I think I found a “marker tree” on a job we are doing. This tree is obviously been bent over and allowed to grow. It has the typical “nose” that I’ve seen in all the online pictures but being it’s a Live Oak has me wondering as they typically grow in random directions anyhow. What y’all think.
